CPR masks - silicone

With us you will find high-quality silicone masks from Laerdal that can be used together with Laerdal breathing balloons. Laerdal has over 35 years of experience in creating quality breathing balloons that are used all over the world. Together with these silicone masks you get an aid that is both user-friendly and easy to use.

Silicone masks are used in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. When a breathing bag is used to help people breathe, they are combined with a silicone mask that fits tightly against the face. Silicone masks are therefore an essential part of lifesaving and are most often used by healthcare professionals.

Silicone masks in different sizes

With us you will find breathing masks that suit everyone. We have silicone masks from Laerdal that are suitable for adults, children and infants. It is important to use the right kind of mask so that they fit tightly. If you are unsure about which silicone masks you should order for your CPR, you can always contact us for advice.

Laerdal's latex-free silicone masks fit all faces, regardless of patient anatomy or size. An airtight seal between the skin and the mask ensures proper air delivery. Regardless of size, all silicone masks are transparent. This way, you can always see the patient's nose and mouth.

The masks are conformable and elastic, providing airtight isolation. They are also comfortable for the patient to wear. The masks are reusable and only need to be thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated between uses.

In addition to silicone masks, we also have mask overlays in our range that provide extra support.

Lifesaving aids

CPR is essential to save the victim's life. Instead of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, healthcare professionals often use breathing balloons to provide oxygen to the victim.

Large volumes of oxygen can then be blown into the lungs without any risk of spreading infection or the like. Using breathing balloons is therefore just as safe for the affected person as it is for the healthcare personnel. Breathing balloons with silicone masks are not only commonly found in healthcare facilities but also in ambulances.

Combine the silicone mask with a breathing balloon

In order for breathing balloons to be used, they must be combined with a silicone mask. It is the silicone mask that fits tightly against the face and ensures that the oxygen ends up in the victim's lungs rather than outside the body. With Laerdal's silicone masks, you get budget-friendly variants that maintain the highest quality. They are well-proven and used worldwide. They also do not need to be discarded after use, but can be cleaned and reused.

Using a breathing balloon correctly requires a certain technique and is something that should be continuously trained.

Imitates the patient's normal breathing

Breathing masks are sometimes called hand ventilators or Ruben's bladders. The latter name comes from the Danish anesthesiologist Henning Ruben. Breathing balloons can be used both with and without added oxygen, depending on what is necessary for the patient. With this device, air is blown into the patient and then comes out through a valve. It is simply intended to imitate the patient's normal breathing.
