The Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator is designed to be easy to use, robust and reliable for first-timers. The FRx defibrillator is the solution for treating cardiac arrest in environments and conditions that are too demanding for many other defibrillators.
Electrodes for all patients. Save valuable time in emergencies with connected electrodes for
use intended for both adults and children. SMART Electrodes II eliminates the cost and need to purchase different electrodes for different types of patients.
FRx is the first-generation defibrillation technology that offers a mobile, wireless solution for data management with the Palm OS® platform. It has an infrared data port for easy transmission of information without cables or compatibility issues.
Only insert the infant/child key into the FRx to give a signal to the device that you are treating an infant or child. The defibrillator adjusts to provide specific electrode placement instructions and CPR instructions. The device reduces the impact energy to a level more suitable for infants or children (less than 25 kilos or 8 years of age).
Only available for HeartStart defibrillators, CPR Coaching reminds the practitioner of the basics of CPR and provides options for both adults and children.
SMART technology, only at Philips. At the heart of all HeartStart Defibrillators is the SMART Biphasic technology. The biphasic waveform of the HeartStart FRx defibrillator provides a very effective defibrillation shock that also is gentle to the heart. External defibrillation therapy has been supported by published clinical data (www.medical.philips.com/main/products/resuscitation/products/fr2plus/fr2plus_resources.html). SMART Analysis, a proven Philips technology for heart rhythm assessment, ensures that the FRx defibrillator only gives a shock when it should. SMART Analysis automatically assesses the patient's heart rhythm and is designed to not give a shock if the rhythm is not needed - even if the shock button is activated. The FRx defibrillator detects what step the user is on, and helps by keeping up with the user and by adapting to their actions. The Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator is an exceptionally robust. It is designed to meet rigorous test requirements, FRx withstands water, and weights up to 225 kilos and can handle a drop from a meter up against a concrete surface.
The HeartStart FRx defibrillator is designed to be as easy to use as the HeartStart HS1 defibrillator, and shares many of its features, including CPR Coaching and Intuitive
use. FRx - weighs only 1.5 kilos - equipped to guide you through the resuscitation of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest. HeartStart FRx guides you through each step with clear, calm voice commands and descriptive visual icons. FRx also reminds you to call emergency care (112). When pressing the blue i-button, the HeartStart CPR Coaching activates and it starts to assist you with the CPR process. These are flashing icons, and a quick reference guide can be used to guide you through the defibrillator process - even in situations where it can be challenging to use voice instructions. When the ambulance arrives, the handover is quick and easy because the FRx is compatible with advanced defibrillators such as the HeartStart MRx used in the ambulance. With HeartStart adapters, our electrodes can be connected to devices from other manufacturers to ensure continuous care.
The HeartStart FRx defibrillator is powered by a battery that is easy to install with a long life bettery (four years), so you know the device is charged and ready. The device's automatic daily, weekly and monthly self-tests check the readiness of the electrodes, and check the functionality of the system. With over 85 tests, the FRx is one of the most comprehensive self-test units on the market and is virtually maintenance-free. The flashing green "Ready" light on the defibrillator is your assurance that the device is ready for use.
