The Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator is designed to be easy to use, robust and reliable for whoever arrives at the scene first. The FRx defibrillator is the solution for the treatment of cardiac arrest in environments and conditions that are too demanding for many other defibrillators.
Electrodes for all patients. Save valuable time in emergency situations with the pre-connected electrodes intended for
use on both adults and children. SMART-pads II eliminate the expense associated with having to purchase different electrode pads for different types of patients.
FRx is a first-generation defibrillation technology that offers a mobile, wireless solution for data management with the Palm OS® platform. It has an infrared data port for easy transmission of data without cables or compatibility issues.
Simply insert the child/infant key into the FRx to signal to the device that you are treating an infant or child. The defibrillator adjusts to provide special instructions on electrode pad placement and CPR instructions. The device reduces the shock energy to a level that is more suitable for infants or children (under 25 kg or 8 years old).
Only available for HeartStart defibrillators, CPR Coaching reminds the users of the basics of CPR and provides options for both adults and children.
SMART-technology, only from Philips. At the core of all HeartStart Defibrillators is its SMART Biphasic technology. The HeartStart FRx defibrillator’s biphasic waveform provides a very effective defibrillation shock that is also gentle on the heart. External defibrillation therapy has been supported by published clinical data (www.medical.philips.com/main/products/resuscitation/products/fr2plus/fr2plus_resources.html).
SMART Analysis, a proven Philips technology for heart rhythm assessment, ensures that the FRx defibrillator only delivers a shock when it is supposed to. SMART Analysis automatically assesses the patient’s heart rhythm and is designed not to deliver a shock unless the rhythm does not require it – even if the shock button is pressed.
The FRx defibrillator detects which step the user is on and helps by keeping pace with the user by adapting to their actions. The Philips HeartStart FRx defibrillator is exceptionally robust. Designed to meet rigorous test requirements, FRx withstands water, weights of up to 225 kilos, and a meter’s drop onto concrete surfaces.
The HeartStart FRx defibrillator has been designed to be just as easy to use as the HeartStart HS1 defibrillator and shares many of its features, including CPR Coaching and intuitive operation.
FRx – weighing just 1.5 kg – is equipped to guide you through the resuscitation of someone who has suffered a cardiac arrest. The HeartStart FRx guides you through each step with clear, calm voice commands and descriptive visual icons. The FRx even reminds you to call the emergency services. Pressing the blue i-button activates HeartStart CPR Coaching to help you with the CPR procedure. The flashing icons and Quick Reference Guide can be used to lead you through the defibrillation process - even in situations where hearing voice instructions is challenging. Once emergency services arrive, hand-off is fast and easy because the FRx is compatible with advanced defibrillators like the HeartStart MRx, which is used by paramedics. With HeartStart adapters, our electrode pads can be plugged into devices from other manufacturers to ensure continuity of care.
HeartStart FRx defibrillators are powered by a battery that is easy to install and has a long service life (four years), so you know that the device is charged and ready. The device’s automated daily, weekly and monthly self-tests check the electrode pads’ readiness and verify the system’s functionality. With over 85 tests, the FRx is one of the most comprehensive self-testing devices on the market and is virtually maintenance-free. The blinking green “Ready” light on the defibrillator is your assurance that the device is ready for use.
