Eyewash is an important product that should be available in all workplaces and schools where hazardous chemical substances are handled. By quickly using eyewash when foreign liquids have entered the eyes, you can save them from major damage.
We have eyewash stations from Cederroth and Dahl Medical to equip your First Aid bag with. There are also wall holders to mount them clearly visible on the wall in work premises. This way they are always close at hand when an accident occurs and the rescue can be started quickly.
Studies show that the use of eyewash is necessary to save the eyes when they have been splashed with alkalis and acids. An effective eyewash neutralizes the PH value of the eye while neutralizing the alkali splashes and acids that have ended up in the eye.
According to a laboratory study conducted by S. Rihawi, M. Frentz & NF Schrage, Emergency treatment of eye burns: which rinsing solution should we choose? , their results show that Cederroth Eye Wash is the most effective eye wash on the market and that it does a very good job of neutralizing the eye's PH value, which leads to a reduced risk of eye damage. Cederroth Eye Wash is also shown to be much more effective than rinsing with water.
There are therefore great advantages to using eyewash when foreign liquids get into the eye, instead of just rinsing with lukewarm water. Cederroth eyewash is also demonstrably better than rinsing the eyes with regular saline solution. Since Cederroth's eyewash is phosphate-free, it can also be used to rinse the eyes if calcium-containing substances have entered them, from, for example, cement, concrete.
Using the eyewash is really easy and no previous experience is required. The cap is quick to remove and the eyewash bottle has a specially designed eye cup that allows you to rinse your eyes from several different angles. The bottle provides a generous flow to rinse your eyes with and continue rinsing them until the contents of the bottle are gone.
Eyewash is included in several of Dahl Medical's first aid kits and Cederroth also has an eyewash station as well as wall holders and warming holders for the bottles. Our wall holders hold one or two bottles and have a very convenient function where the lid on the bottle opens when you remove it from the holder. This makes it extra quick to start rinsing with the eyewash.
An eyewash bottle that has been opened cannot be reused, which is why we also sell refill bottles in different sizes. Before a bottle of eyewash is opened, it has a lifespan of several years.
