Connecting a ShockLink to training electrodes and a defibrillator allows for safe, realistic training. When the defibrillator initiates a shock, the ShockLink deactivates the current, ensuring that no actual current is delivered to the training dummy.
Learning CPR is valuable for people in all professions, from office staff to construction workers, as well as anyone interested in emergency preparedness. Understanding CPR and how a defibrillator functions can make a critical difference in emergencies. A study on paramedics (Safety in Performing CPR) highlights the importance of regular CPR training to maintain skills and increase confidence in emergency situations【source】. Investing in CPR training is always worthwhile—it can ultimately save lives.
Even children as young as 12 can participate in CPR courses, as they are physically able to perform chest compressions.
Training with a CPR Dummy and ShockLink
To provide realistic CPR training with a defibrillator, using a ShockLink is highly beneficial. A ShockLink connects the defibrillator to a training dummy, allowing participants to practice in a safe, lifelike setting. By linking the defibrillator to the dummy through the ShockLink, participants can simulate the experience of using a defibrillator on a human-like model, making the training session as realistic as possible.
With a ShockLink, any current intended by the defibrillator is safely diverted, meaning no actual current is delivered to the dummy. This allows for hands-on defibrillator training with most CPR dummies.
Adapters for ShockLink
In some cases, an adapter may be needed to connect your ShockLink to a defibrillator, depending on the model. We offer two types of adapters:
• ZOLL Adapter: Compatible with AED Plus, AED Pro, R Series, and X Series models.
• Physio-Control Adapter: Suitable for various Physio-Control defibrillators.
If you need assistance choosing the correct adapter, feel free to contact us for guidance.
Electrodes for ShockLink
We also offer contact electrodes for use with the ShockLink, available in both adult and child sizes. Select the appropriate size based on whether you’re training with an adult or child-sized dummy.
A ShockLink allows you to connect a live defibrillator to a training dummy, providing an exceptional level of realism for high-quality CPR training.
