Most defibrillators come with a bag, but not all of them. In that case, it may be worth considering supplementing with a bag made specifically for your defibrillator. Even if the defibrillator has a built-in handle or similar, a bag can facilitate in several situations. It could be that you want to store extra materials such as additional electrodes, an extra battery, and CPR / first aid kits along with the defibrillator. It could be that the defibrillator needs to be transported and then a bag can protect against shocks, moisture, and dust.
Nowadays, there are also bags with heating that keep the defibrillator sufficiently warm for it to function outdoors. If you transport the defibrillator in a car or outdoors, a heated bag may be essential because electrodes and batteries can stop working in sub-zero temperatures.
If the defibrillator needs to be transported over a longer distance, a backpack can also be an option as it is easier to carry and can fit more material than a bag. With us, you will find backpacks made for defibrillators in two different sizes; a smaller compact bag and a larger one with space for most of the first aid material.
As mentioned, a bag often comes with a defibrillator. The bag that comes with it is usually good for storing and transporting the defibrillator. It is often also possible to store extra materials such as a CPR kit in the bag. The idea is to be able to quickly grab the bag to run to the cardiac arrest without delay and also bring all the important extra materials.
A slightly more protective bag is the Philips model which protects against both shocks and water. However, it is adapted to Philips' own defibrillators and does not fit models from other manufacturers.
Here is a brief summary of the bags that usually come with different defibrillators:
ZOLL AED PLUS: A fairly thin fabric bag that has a strap that you can wear around the shoulder. At the back, there is a storage space for extra material. The bag can be hung on a wall bracket.
AED7000: This one also has a fairly thin fabric bag but somewhat better protection than ZOLL's bag. This bag has space on the sides for an extra battery and the back has a compartment. The bag has a carrying handle and shoulder strap. Can also be hung on a wall bracket.
Philips HS1: A sturdy bag that is also easy to transport. The bag protects against both shocks and moisture. Philips has two different sizes, the larger one also has space for an extra battery and extra electrode.
